BPMO Generator

The BPMO Generator Plug-in generates process definitions in several target business process definition languages from semantically rich process definitions in the Business Process Management Ontology (BPMO). Although process definition languages are different, the concepts are always the same.

XPDL (XML Process Definition Language) will be the first language to be supported by the BPMO Generator Plug-in. The XPDL specification has been developed under the auspices of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC).

A growing number of vendors and open source projects support XPDL. However, involved parties interpret the specification differently, meaning that Workflow Management Systems / Business Process Management Systems generally lack interoperability. However, it is easy to extend the BPMO Generator Plug-in to make it create process definitions for a specific XPDL-based BPMS.

Beyond that, the generator can also be extended to produce process definitions for BPMS with proprietary process definition languages, such as Staffware.
